Found this cryptic looking set of numbers in some of the doorway along Canal Road, Beliaghata. I suspected it was short forms of Google Map Locations. Sure enough when I added the characters into Google Map it took me exactly to that same location! No sure who is doing this, but this might just be a new way to add an address to an exact locations without an address. #uxinthewild

At the cinema hall entrance, we were briefly searching for the Screen Hall No. only to find that it was decoratively added on the side of the entrance. Design Lesson: Always consider the most important piece of information (in this case the Hall No.) and ensure it stands out rather than blend in with the surrounding. #uxinthewild

Sometimes it takes a little thoughtfulness to come up with a design that seem so obvious on hindsight, its like that is how it is supposed to be. Here is an example of it, a cut-out behind a ladies helmet for the ponytail and chotis. #uxinthewild

Using Constraint as an Anti-Affordance. Not sure if this was done deliberately, but here (Door on the right) is one way you can indicate a restricted area in a public space such as a Community Hall. The door on the left is a normal size door, accessible to public. But the door on the right is awkwardly smaller, giving an indication that this is not publicly accessible. #uxinthewild

Why are lift that cost a fortune to install have such terribly designed console! You can hardly read the floor buttons, another common issue with quite a few lift is that the buttons to keep the lift open and close are almost distinguishable at a glance, causing you to close the door, when you meant to keep it open. #uxlessoninthewild

Found this interesting piece of device at work… It's essentially a heavy handset with a SIM, so you get the accessibility of a Mobile but the forced unportability of a Hand set, perfect for home use… A mobile that cannot get lost at home 😉 #uxinthewild
